Adharm is everything that is against Dharm. Therefore, it is important to understand Dharm because that’s the only way to identify Adharm. In simple words, Dharm means righteousness but not religion or ‘Majhab’. Here, we would share the examples of a few Adharmik (sinful) acts that happened across the globe. I hope they will give you some idea of what is Adharm (sin) and If you understand what is Adharm, ensure to stand against it. Let’s move on to the list of Adharmik or sinful acts and its deliberation.

1. Raping or Sexually Assaulting Women is Extreme Adharm.

On 4 May 2023, there happened a case in Manipur, in which, a woman was paraded naked, sexually assaulted, and raped by people of one of the communities there. It was a heart-breaking incident that happened in the country. The assaulters even filmed the incident and posted it on social media platforms. Later on, we saw the news that the people, who did this, were from the community whose woman was raped by the people of the other community earlier. Both of these incidents were examples of extreme Adharm.

According to Dharm, if someone rapes your woman, you should kill that person and the people who justify him, but you cannot rape or assault his woman. Even if a woman is an extreme sinner, you cannot rape her, assault her, or exploit her sexually. If she is a threat to humanity and other living beings, she may be killed but must not be raped or tortured. The point here is that raping or sexually assaulting a woman cannot be justified whatever the reason is.

The logic behind this is that our responsibility is to eliminate Adharm and establish Dharm in society. But when you rape a woman who is from the side of non-dharmik (Adharmi) people, you are giving birth to Adharm within you. In this case, you remain of no use to society because you become what you were fighting against. The thumb rule of Dharm is that a person who is on the side of Adharm, who supports Adharm, and who moves on the path of Adharm, shouldn’t be living. Therefore, if you happen to rape or sexually exploit an innocent or even a witch kind of woman, kill yourself immediately. If you don’t kill yourself,  Someone else, from the society, should perform the task.
