Shree Krishna Janmabhoomi Mathura Darshan

Shree Krishna Janmabhoomi temple is one of the most important temples of Bhagwan Krishna. It is near the place where Shree Krishan’s human incarnation had happened. Let me take you through this journey to Kanhaiya Ji’s birth place.

How to Reach Mathura

The best way to reach Mathura from Delhi is by train. We took the Taj Express from Nizamuddin railway station. It leaves at around 07:00 am and reaches the destination within a couple of hours. We had pre-booked our tickets which cost around ₹100 per person.

The Taj Express dropped us at Mathura Junction at around 09:00 AM. We took a battery rickshaw from there that dropped us at Bhooteshwar Temple Crossing near the Janmabhoomi temple. It took only about 15 minutes and the fare was ₹20 per person.

Shri Krishnam Janmabhoomi Temple

We walked to the temple and decided to go inside the temple turn-wise. If we all would have gone together, we would have had to submit the baggage and mobile phones. As it was a time taking task, we avoided it. Three of us stayed outside with the luggage while the other five people went inside the temple. In the meantime, it started raining and the kids and adults took full advantage of the rain. They were bathing, and we were thinking if we would have brought extra pair of clothes.

The other five people shortly returned and it was our turn for Shri Krishna’s darshan. The rain had just stopped and we stood in the frisking queue. The temple is built at height, therefore the way to get in is a bit sloppy. Now because, it had rained recently and the water was flowing on the way like a waterfall. While walking in, from that path, we did splashing in the water which made the start of our journey more enjoyable.

Radha Krishna Darshan

We entered the temple and stood before Radha Krishna, looking at them for a few minutes. We didn’t move from there until we felt that the connection had been established with the Shri Radha Krishna. This connection is not a scientific process but it is a much bigger process which cannot be understood by science. Anyways, I’ll not talk much about this process and feeling because it cannot be understood by just reading.

After that, we bowed our heads before the different swaroops of Bhagwan who had been seated in the same temple. There is also a statue of Shri Hanuman Prasad Poddar who had done a great job by promoting the Bhagwad Granths in India.

Leaving for Shree Govardhan Ji’s Parikrama

After we exited from the temple, we ate some snacks and then went to hire a vehicle to reach Govardhan. We directly went to Govardhan as we wanted to do the Giriraj Parikrama.

  1. […] We went to Mathura by train and took a three-wheeler to travel to Govardhan from there. The fare charged for that was ₹60 per person. Remember to ask the local transporter to drop you at the Govardhan bus stand. The bust stand is within walking distance from the Giriraj Govardhan temple. The Parikrama (parikrama means revolving around) of Mount Govardhan starts from this temple. […]
